EWCL Armadillo Curriculum

The Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders (EWCL) is an initiative to develop and train future leaders in the field. The 2013-2014 class includes a Giant Armadillo Team which has undertaken a two-pronged approach to help build awareness of this important animal. Working with media outlets and zoos around the world to foster greater conservation measures, Team Giant Armadillo focused on a media campaign centered around the 2014 FIFA Soccer World Cup in Brazil (whose mascot was the indigenous three-banded armadillo), and developed materials for zoos in North America, South America and Europe.
The comprehensive materials developed by the EWCL are a durable resource that can be applied to any interpretive endeavor that hopes to advance armadillo conservation. They can be accessed via the links from this page:

Media packets
Educational material (lessons and activities)
Additional materials (masks, posters, games, etc.)

Organizations that make use of these materials are asked to complete this brief survey Use Survey and return it to Laura Gruber at Laura.E.Gruber@disney.com.
